Jokowi claims that the Pre-Employment Card program has provided benefits for its participants.
President Joko Widodo appreciated the Pre-Employment Card program which has been attended by 12.8 million participants since its launch in April 2020.
With this number, Jokowi claims that there are already 12.8 million people whose skills and productivity have increased after becoming participants in the Pre-Employment Card program.
"This number is not small, 12.8 million, whose productivity has increased, their skills have increased, their work experience due to this training has increased, 12.8 million," said Jokowi at the #KitaPrakerja Gathering which was broadcast on the Kartu Prakerja YouTube account, Friday (17/6/2022).
Jokowi is pleased with this achievement because the Pre-Employment Card program was launched in the midst of an atmosphere full of restrictions at the beginning of the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
"Can we do these methods if we don't use a digital platform, it's impossible, right, or not?" Jokowi said.
Jokowi also claims that the Pre-Employment Card program has provided benefits for its participants. He conveyed this, reflecting the results of a survey by the Central Statistics Agency which showed 88.9 percent of Pre-Employment Program participants admitted that this program had improved their skills.
However, Jokowi also acknowledged that there are a number of things that must be improved from this program, one of which is assistance for participants who have completed the program.
"We hope that it will continue to be evaluated, corrected, improved, I think many inputs are accepted. It was good that (the proposal) had to be accompanied, I think it was also good, later if someone asks for endorsement again, will they be endorsed one-on-one or not nothing," he said.
He also advised all parties to remain productive in the midst of a difficult world situation due to rising energy and food prices.
The former governor of DKI Jakarta emphasized that the key to the progress of a country is its human resources (HR), not natural resources. (antara, kompas)
