Airlangga said the policy was carried out according to the direction of President Joko Widodo.
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the government had again implemented a free visa or visa-free policy for tourists from Southeast Asian (ASEAN) countries.
Airlangga said the policy was carried out in accordance with President Joko Widodo's direction in a limited meeting regarding the evaluation of the Java-Bali Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) on Monday (4/4/2022).
"Earlier, it was the president's directive that visas for the ASEAN region were visa-free again," Airlangga said in a virtual press conference regarding the results of the PPKM average. Airlangga said, tourists from other countries still apply the Visa On Arrival (VoA) policy.
In addition, he explained, regarding overseas travelers (PPLN) who will enter Indonesia, they must show the results of a 2 x 24 hour PCR test and proof of vaccination.
Then, upon arrival in Indonesia, PPLN with a high temperature will again be asked for a PCR test, while those with a normal temperature will not be asked to do a PCR test.
"Others are required to use PeduliLindung and the president's directive earlier that visas for Southeast Asia are visa-free for return and other countries are visa on arrival," he said. (antara, kompas)
