The TNI and KASAD commanders have ordered an investigation into this mutilation case.
The Central Commander of the Army Military Police (Danpuspomad) Lt. Gen. Chandra W Sukotjo confirmed that six members of the Army were suspects in the mutilation case.
The mutilation case occurred to two civilians in Pigapu Village, East Mimika District, Mimika Regency, Central Papua.
"That's right, they have (become suspects). The Military Police of the XVII/Cenderawasih Military Command (Pomdam) have carried out legal proceedings against the six Indonesian Army soldiers. Chandra added that the perpetrators were civilians who had been handled by the police. The question of the motive for this case is still being investigated by the Cenderawasih Pomdam.
TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa and TNI AD Chief of Staff (Kasad) General TNI Dudung Abdurachman have ordered Puspomad to thoroughly investigate the case allegedly involving six TNI AD soldiers.
The mutilated victim's body was found in Pigapu-Logopon Village, Mimika Regency, Papua, Saturday (27/8/2022).
Meanwhile, Head of the Army Information Service (Kadispenad) Brigadier General Tatang Subarna said Subdenpom XVII/Cenderawasih in Mimika has now secured the six Indonesian Army soldiers.
