Jokowi carries a special mission in his visit to Ukraine and Russia, namely, to seek peace between the two countries.
President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) visits to Ukraine and Russia have received praise and attention from various parties. Moreover, Jokowi became the first Asian president to visit the two countries after the war in February 2022.
"That's right (becoming the first Asian president to visit Ukraine and Russia)," said Acting Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Teuku Faizasyah, Wednesday (29/6/2022).
Jokowi carries a special mission during his visit to Ukraine and Russia, namely, to seek peace between the two conflicting countries. Jokowi himself arrived in Kyiv Ukraine on Wednesday today, at 08.50 local time.
Using the Extraordinary Train, Jokowi traveled about 11 hours via Poland, to get to Kyiv Ukraine. He was accompanied by Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi and Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung.
Jokowi's arrival was welcomed by Ukraine's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Senik, Head of the Ukrainian-Indonesian Intergovernmental Relations Commission Taras Kachka, and officials from the Indonesian Embassy in Kyiv.
Jokowi's visit to Ukraine will begin by visiting the ruins of the Lipky Apartment complex in Irpin City. After that, he was scheduled to visit the Center for Endocrine Science and Surgery, Endocrine Organ and Tissue Transplantation in Kyiv City.
In the afternoon, Jokowi will go to the Maryinsky Palace to have a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Jokowi and his entourage will immediately return to Poland on Wednesday afternoon local time, by the Extraordinary Train.
