Military Exercise of 14 Super Garuda Shield Countries in Indonesia Officially Opened

Super Garuda Shield 2022 is a large-scale joint training event between Indonesia and friendly countries in the Indo-Pacific region.

TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa with Commanding General U.S. Army Pacific Command General Charles A. Flynn, opened the 2022 Super Garuda Shield Joint Exercise at the Puslatpur Kodiklatad Baturaja, South Sumatra, Wednesday (3/8).

The 2022 Super Garuda Shield Latma will be held on August 1-14, involving 14 countries, namely Indonesia, the United States, Australia, Malaysia, Japan, Singapore, France, England, Papua New Guinea, Timor Leste, India, Canada, New Zealand and South Korea.

The 2022 Super Garuda Shield exercise was held at the Baturaja Kodiklatad Puslatpur, Dabo Singkep Riau Islands, the Military Military Command VI/Mulawarman Amborawang Training Area and Palembang Sultan Mahmud Baharuddin Airport.

Super Garuda Shield 2022 is a large-scale joint training event between Indonesia and friendly countries in the Indo Pacific region, involving 4,337 personnel.

The details are 3,455 TNI personnel, consisting of the 1995 Army, 704 AL and AU 756, 1,337 US personnel, 91 Australian personnel, 110 Japanese personnel, 52 Singaporean personnel, three Malaysian personnel, and two British personnel.

Then there are five personnel from Papua New Guinea, four personnel from Timor Leste, two personnel from India, three personnel from Canada, two personnel from New Zealand and three personnel from South Korea.

Meanwhile, the weapons and defense equipment used by the TNI are AV-LMU (Astros), AV-RMD, AV-PCC, AV-Meteo, AV-UCF, AV-OFVE, Cannon 105 KH 178, Reo, HELI AH-64 Apache, Heli Bell 412, Heli HS 1311, KRI Makassar 590, KRI Bung Tomo 357, KRI John Lie 358, KRI Frans Kaisiepo 368, BMP-3F, Armored Amphibious Vehicle (LVT-7), Boeing 737 and F-16.

From the US are Himars, 105 M119 Cannon, AH-64 Apache, UH-60 Blackhawk Heli, RQ-7 Shadow Drone, Radar Q 50, USS Charleston (LCS-18), USS Green Bay (LPD-20), Landing Craff Air Cushion (LCAC).

As well as from Singapore RSS Resolution-208, RSS Supreme-73), P-8 Posiedon, SAF C 130-J, and the Caesar Cannon. (tni, antara)
