Mahfud explained that there were three clusters of involvement of Polri personnel in the case of the death of Brigadier Joshua.
Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud Md said Ferdy Sambo had a group that had become a kingdom within the National Police Headquarters.
Quoting from tempo.co, Mahfud stated that there were structural obstacles in resolving the case of the death of Brigadier J at the Sambo official residence some time ago.
“Because of this, it is undeniable that the Sambo group itself is like a police kingdom within it. Like a very powerful sub-headquarters," Mahfud said on Akbar Faisal Uncensored's YouTube channel, quoted Thursday, August 18, 2022.
Mahfud explained that there were three clusters of involvement of Polri personnel in the case of the death of Brigadier Joshua. The first cluster, namely the figure of Inspector General Sambo who became a suspect for allegedly planning this murder.
Then the second cluster, namely the party obstructing the investigation of the case. He assessed that this cluster has the potential to be charged with obstruction of justice.
The third cluster, namely the parties who just joined in this case. This last cluster has the potential to be ensnared by allegations of ethical, not criminal, violations.
"Groups one and two can't if they aren't convicted. One is doing and planning. And these two are making false statements, changing keys, manipulating autopsy results. That's part of the obstruction of justice," said Mahfud.
Ferdy Sambo has confessed to being the main actor in the murder of Joshua at his official residence. Bharada Richard Eliezer admitted that he was ordered by Ferdy Sambo to shoot his partner, Joshua.
For the act of killing Brigadier Joshua, Ferdy Sambo was threatened with Article 340 subsidiary Article 338 in conjunction with Article 55 and Article 56 of the Criminal Code with a maximum sentence of death penalty, life imprisonment, and 20 years in prison.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Pol Dedi Prasetyo was reluctant to answer the allegation of the existence of the Ferdy Sambo empire in the internal police body.
Dedi said that its current focus is on proving Article 340 subsidiary 338 in conjunction with Articles 55 and 56 of the Criminal Code against Ferdy Sambo, Ricky Rizal, Richard Eliezer, and Kuwat Maruf.
