The refund of RP480 million from presenter Brigita Manohara does not remove the criminal element.
Acting (Plt) spokesman for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Ali Fikri said the KPK was analyzing the reason for the Central Mamberamo Regent Ricky Ham Pagawak giving Rp480 million to television presenter Brigita Purnawati Manohara.
"We are still analyzing and reviewing the refund," said Ali Fikri, Monday, August 1, 2022.
Ali appreciated Brigita's move to return the money related to the alleged bribery and gratification case in Central Mamberamo. Ali asked other parties who also received money from Ricky to immediately return it to the KPK.
"We hope that the witnesses in this case who received the money from the suspect RHP (Ricky Ham Pagawak) will cooperatively return it to the state through the KPK," said Ali.
Brigita's refund doesn't erase the crime
Ali Fikri stated that the refund of the Rp480 million proceeds from a corruption crime by TV presenter Brigita Purnawati Manohara did not remove the criminal element.
"We appreciate the return of money by witnesses in corruption cases, although of course it cannot erase the crime. However, at least it is part of obedience to the legal process," said Ali Fikri, Monday (1/8). (antara)
