"This shows higher mobility, but also shows that there is economic movement, better economic turnover, especially tourism."
President Joko Widodo or Jokowi said the rate of transmission of Covid-19 cases continued to decline. This, according to Jokowi, triggers economic improvement due to higher community activities.
"If we look at the markets, they have started to get crowded, very crowded, and this is also ahead of Eid al-Fitr, so there is an increase in purchasing power," Jokowi said in his statement, Wednesday, April 13, 2022.
In addition, Jokowi said the increase in community mobility can also be seen from the increasing congestion rate in almost all regions. He is optimistic that this will be a sign of the reactivity of the Indonesian economy.
"This shows higher mobility, but also shows that there is economic movement, better economic turnover, especially tourism," said Jokowi.
The declining trend of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia was previously conveyed by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan. Until now, Luhut said only nine regencies and cities in Java-Bali still had PPKM level 3 status.
“The impact of the declining trend of cases and all of its accompanying aspects directly also has a positive impact on the district and city assessment levels that are out today. Currently, there are no more at level 4," said Luhut on Monday, April 4, 2022. (setkab, tempo)
