Jokowi encourages the opening of a peaceful dialogue space between Russia and Ukraine.
President Joko Widodo is ready to be a mediator bridging the communication between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
This statement was made by Jokowi in a press conference with President Putin after the two met at the Kremlin Palace, Thursday (30/6/2022).
"To President Zelensky and President Putin, I convey my readiness to be a communication bridge between the two leaders," said Jokowi, Wednesday (29/6/2022).
Jokowi said that although the current situation was still very difficult for Russia and Ukraine, he still conveyed that a peaceful settlement was important. And so that the space for dialogue between the two countries continues to be prioritized.
During the meeting, Jokowi and Putin also discussed the issue of food and fertilizers, which are currently humanitarian issues.
The supply of food and agriculture was hampered by the war. As a result, hundreds of people were affected by the disruption of the food and fertilizer supply chain.
"Especially in developing countries. I really appreciate President Putin who said earlier that he provided security guarantees for food and fertilizer supplies from both Russia and Ukraine. This is good news," he said. (kemlu, Sputnik)
