These elite troops came from the Kopassus, Denjaka, and Pakhas units.
President Joko Widodo will meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv at the end of June. During the meeting, Jokowi will be escorted by 39 elite troops from the Presidential Security Forces (Paspampres).
These elite troops come from three TNI dimensions, both from the TNI AD, namely those forged in Kopassus, the Navy which had been forged in Denjaka, and the Indonesian Air Force which had been forged in Pakhas.
"We have also prepared a rescue team, which we usually don't bring during certain activities, this time we bring these personnel," said Paspampres Commander Major General Tri Budi Utomo, Thursday (23/6).
The elite troops, said Tri, will be divided into several teams, namely the first team attached to Jokowi, the rescue team, and the advance team. A total of 39 troops will be deployed.
"If we ourselves are attached to him (Jokowi) there are 19, plus the eye (rescue team) itself is 10 [people] there. That means 29 [people], plus 10 people who are already standing by there," Tri explained. .
The soldiers will also be equipped with long-barreled weapons. They were also supplied with unlimited ammunition while escorting Jokowi.
Not just security personnel, during that visit. Jokowi and the Indonesian delegates will be equipped with vests and helmets. The guards are also equipped with long guns with unlimited ammunition.
Jokowi plans to visit Ukraine and Russia later this month. The visit was made after Jokowi attended the G7 meeting in Germany.
