Jokowi Allows People to Vacation to Tourist Locations During Eid

Residents who will go home and vacation must comply with health protocols and have been vaccinated with boosters.

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has allowed people to vacation in tourist destinations in the country during the Eid holiday this year. Previously, Jokowi also allowed residents to return to their hometowns for Eid this year.

Jokowi advised residents who will go home and vacation to implement health protocols. Especially wearing a mask.

"Second, there must be a complete vaccine, plus a booster vaccine because this is to protect us all, to protect us all," said the President while visiting Borobudur Temple, Magelang, Central Java, Wednesday, March 30, 2022.

Based on data compiled by the government, as many as 79 million people will go home for Eid. Jokowi asked all ranks to oversee the implementation of the homecoming properly.

"This is not a small number. This figure should not be compared with other events, for example MotoGP, which is only 60 thousand. 60 thousand can not be compared to 79 million so handling must be careful. Complete vaccines must be done, then boosters are also being pursued ," said Jokowi. (setkab, medcom)
