Indonesia Revokes Obligation for Covid-19 Tests for Foreign and Domestic Traveler

This policy applies to travelers who have received a complete or 2-dose Covid-19 vaccination.

President Joko Widodo or Jokowi announced that the results of the Covid-19 test were no longer a requirement for traveling at home and abroad.

This policy applies to travelers who have received a complete or 2-dose Covid-19 vaccination.

"For domestic and foreign travelers who have received a complete dose of vaccination, there is no longer a need to carry out PCR or antigen swab tests," Jokowi said in the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube show, Tuesday (17/5/2022).

Previously, a negative RT-PCR or antigen test result was a requirement for domestic and foreign travelers to travel.

Only residents who have received a booster vaccination or three doses are free from these requirements.

In addition to relaxing travel conditions, the president also announced an easing of the use of masks.

People may not use masks if they are active outside the room or in open areas that are not crowded with people.

However, for activities in closed spaces and public transportation, it is mandatory to continue to wear a mask. Then, for elderly citizens and those with congenital diseases, it is recommended to remain orderly wearing masks.

Not only that, said Jokowi, masks should also be used by residents who are coughing and colds.

"Similarly, for people who experience symptoms of cough and cold, they still have to wear masks when doing activities," he said. (setpres)
