The low price of fuel in Indonesia is due to the large energy subsidy this year of IDR 502.4 trillion.
Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto said the price of fuel oil (BBM) in Indonesia is relatively cheap compared to other ASEAN countries.
The low price of fuel in Indonesia is due to the large energy subsidy this year of IDR502.4 trillion.
"The economic price of Pertamax is Rp. 15,150 per liter, but the retail price is currently Rp.12,500. Likewise, the economic price of Pertalite is Rp.13,150, the retail price is still Rp. 7,650," said Airlangga in a press conference on the Financial Note and the 2023 State Budget Bill. in Jakarta, Tuesday (16/8).
He compares if you look at several other countries in ASEAN, the price of Pertalite is relatively high, such as in Thailand at Rp. 19,500 per liter, Vietnam at Rp. 16,645, and the Philippines at Rp. 21,352.
Therefore, in increasing fuel prices, the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) has succeeded in becoming a shock absorber through energy subsidies.
Meanwhile, to maintain price stabilization, Airlangga said that the Central Inflation Control Team (TPIP) and the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) continue to encourage policy programs related to price affordability, supply availability, smooth distribution, and effective communication with the public.
"That way we can handle the hyperinflation challenge this year and next year," he said. (Among)
