Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad promised that his party would not continue the political process that developed in parliament regarding the discourse on postponing elections and extending the presidential term.
This was conveyed by Dasco from a command car to a mass demonstration from the student alliance in front of the parliamentary complex of the DPR, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday (11/4).
"We will ensure that the electoral process between the government KPU and the DPR runs as it should," he told the crowd.
Dasco said on Tuesday (12/4), President Joko Widodo would inaugurate new KPU and Bawaslu members. In this way, the 2024 general election process will run according to the agreement between the KPU, the DPR and the government.
Dasco promised that his party would also convey the aspirations of students to the president. Not only about the electoral process, but also related to the increase in the price of basic commodities in the market.
