PPKM can be stopped with a record that there is no increase in positive cases and a consistent decrease in the number of patients in the hospital.
Deputy Minister of Health (Wamenkes) Dante Saksono said the government was still evaluating the Implementation of Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM).
He hopes that PPKM can be stopped in August 2022 if the corona virus (Covid-19) pandemic is really under control.
"Still in the evaluation stage. Later if the evaluation is good, hopefully in August," Dante told reporters, Tuesday (31/5).
Dante explained that currently the Ministry of Health routinely conducts studies on the development of Covid-19 cases. Advice from health experts and epidemiologists is also welcome.
The plan to stop PPKM, he said, could be done with a record that there was no increase in positive cases and a consistent decrease in the number of patients in the hospital.
Dante previously also revealed three conditions that will determine the sustainability of PPKM as an effort to control the corona virus pandemic in Indonesia.
The parameter used by the government is to calculate the Rt or the effective reproduction number of Covid-19. Rt is the number of effective transmission of secondary cases in the population. A value below 1 is an indication that the outbreak is under control and the number of new cases is decreasing.
In the first option, if it is less than two months the Rt value is less than one, the PPKM will be extended every two weeks. The second option, if the Rt Covid-19 for 4 months is less than 1, then the PPKM will be extended once a month.
"When the Rt status is less than 1 and it has reached 6 months, it is possible that PPKM does not need to be updated again," he said. (antara)
