Coordinating Minister Airlangga Ensures Indonesia is Far from an Economic Recession

Airlangga stated this considering that a number of countries have fallen into recession and even went bankrupt.

Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto ensured that the potential for Indonesia to fall into an economic recession was very small.

Airlangga confirmed this after accompanying President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to receive IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva at the Bogor Palace.

"Indonesia sees that our domestic situation is relatively good. Some countries are entering a recession but Indonesia sees the potential for a recession compared to other countries to be relatively small, around 3%," he said, quoted from the Presidential Secretariat's Youtube account, Sunday (17/7/2022).

Airlangga stated this considering that a number of countries have fallen into recession and even went bankrupt.

Airlangga explained in the meeting with Kristalina, Jokowi hoped that the IMF would support Indonesia's G20 presidency.

Airlangga also hopes that the IMF can put a positive view on Indonesia and other developing countries. (setpres, antara)
