BIN initiated the formation of Wangsa Avatara Medical Intelligence which is supervised by qualified human resources and sophisticated equipment.
Head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) Budi Gunawan inaugurated two advanced facilities as well as inaugurating early cadets of class 18 Asta Dasa Mahasura at the State Intelligence College (STIN), on Monday, May 30, 2022. Namely Medical Intelligence Wangsa Avatar BIN and smart campus development Dr ( HC) Ir Soekarno.
Head of BIN Budi Gunawan said the inauguration of the smart campus development can be seen from the land which reaches 15 hectares and the advanced technology facilities that are applied. Moreover, said Budi, STIN is heading towards one of the leading intelligence universities in Asia by 2035.
"To realize this, BIN builds a smart campus that implements digital technology. The inauguration of Dr (HC) Ir Soekarno's smart campus is also one of our forms of implementation. Where BIN is required to work harder, smarter, faster, more precise, accurate, and more efficient. strong," said Budi in his statement, Monday, May 30, 2022.
He explained that in the smart campus there is a smart class equipped with smart boards and LEDs for learning presentations. Then, a smart library that allows the process of borrowing digitally recorded literature and can access hundreds of thousands of e-books online, including the National Library (NLI) and the personal collection of the Head of BIN.
There are eight leading technological laboratories, including nuclear, bio-molecular, virtual chemical, cyber, IT and Economic Intelligence laboratories, language laboratories and various device simulators, as well as intelligence drones.
Artificial intelligence-based technology (AI-artificial intelligence) is applied for operational effectiveness and security. For example, voice recognition and face recognition that allow the operation of various devices including elevators and motion detection in the campus environment.
Then, at the Wangsa Avatara Medical Intelligence building, Pejaten, it was indicated that BIN played a major role in the health aspect. The existence of Medical Intelligence is believed to be able to prevent future health cases.
The Wangsa Avatara Medical Intelligence Building will be filled with professionals with international reputation, sophisticated equipment, technology and infrastructure. One of them is next generation sequencing (NGS) for automatic preparation which is the only one in Indonesia.
"After two years of facing the Covid-19 pandemic crisis, we were forced to adapt to life. So BIN initiated the formation of Wangsa Avatara Medical Intelligence which is supervised by qualified human resources and sophisticated equipment," said Budi.
Another facility belonging to Wangsa Avatar is Bio Safety Level 3 (BSL 3). The researchers were able to culture dangerous diseases such as lassa fever virus, MERS, nipah, rift valley fever, and dengue fever. Category BSL 3 allows researchers to safely store cell cultures, viruses, and infectious disease genetic material.
While in BSL 2, researchers can isolate and identify disease-causing pathogens, be they bacteria, viruses, or fungi, and research compounds or drugs to treat these diseases. Both BSL 3 and BSL 2 facilities are World Biohaztec certified, thus meeting world-level biosafety and biosecurity standards. (antara, medcom)
